Trinity House Community is a Catholic non-profit ministry with a mission to inspire families to make home a taste of heaven for the renewal of faith and culture. We do this by ENGAGING THE PUBLIC with a vision of the renewed Christian home and community at our award-winning Trinity House Cafe + Market, by EQUIPPING PARENTS with the Heaven in Your Home Workshop, weekly Letters, and books, and by ENCOURAGING FAMILIES in parish-based Trinity House Community Groups.
 
Chef/Kitchen Manager & Ministry Business Associate
 

Hours: 25-40 hrs/week, daytime shifts, mostly weekdays, some Saturdays, closed on Sunday

Wage: $16-18/hr plus $3/hr in tips for a total of $19+

Trinity House Community is currently accepting applications for the position of Chef/Kitchen Manager & Ministry Business Associate for its award-winning Trinity House Cafe + Market in the historic district of Leesburg, VA. The individual will work closely with the Cafe Assistant Manager, the Market Manager, and the Community Co-Directors to support the overall Cafe business and staff. We are seeking a missionary-hearted, ministry-driven, team-building leader who will partner with us in strategic planning and practical steps to developing the cafe ministry/business toward a franchise model.

Responsibilities:

  • Food prep, light cooking and baking
  • Meal and drink prep
  • Curate menu, seasonal menu changes
  • Keep a clean, organized kitchen in compliance with Health Code
  • Some oversight of junior staff
  • Some inventory
  • Conducting analysis for opportunities to strengthen the business model
  • Develop and implement strategies for ministry/business growth
  • Other duties as requested
 

Qualifications:

  • Love of food, cooking, service, business development, team-building, and problem-solving
  • Some cooking and food service experience
  • Organized, detail-oriented, enjoys keeping workspace clean
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time management
  • Self starter, innovative, mission-focused, able to cast a vision and implement strategies
