New Video Tells the Story of Trinity House Community

2

We are delighted to share with you a new 3 1/2-min. video that conveys our mission to “inspire families to make home a taste of heaven for the renewal of faith and culture.” We’re so grateful to those who made it possible:

  • Fr. Denis Donahue, Pastor of St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Falls Church, VA, for his support and encouragement, including as a member of our Board of Directors.
  • Mark and Maria Elszy, a couple from the St. John’s Leesburg Trinity House Group, and proud parents of a Trinity House Cafe barista “alumna.” Maria has also exhibited her photography at the cafe.
  • Jodi St. George, a member of the St. John’s Group, who spoke so eloquently about the Trinity House model’s 5 levels.
  • Francis DuBois, a member of the St. John’s Group, who juggled one of his daughters during the filming and made it all look so effortless.
  • Mike and Karina Rook of the St. Philip’s Group, for sharing about the group’s impact in their own family and community.
  • Manuel and Elsy Marquez, who not only shared their experience in this video, but also recently launched the first Spanish-speaking Trinity House Group (at St. Philip’s).
  • The Baristas at Trinity House Cafe + Market, including Assistant Manager Tamara Black (featured in the video is barista Isaiah Terry).
  • The 6 Mount Saint Mary’s seminarians who are doing their 2022-2023 Pastoral Field Education assignment at Trinity House Cafe + Market (featured in the video are Sean Mazary, YA, Diocese of Arlington, and Peter Foley, Diocese of Lincoln).
  • Videographer Patrick McNamara, owner of www.DrawnToTheImage.com

> Thanks to Aida Willis, Director of Religious Education, and Michelle Huber Preschool Director, at St. Mary of Sorrows in Fairfax for hosting us last Saturday for a Heaven in Your Home Workshop with over 15 couples! In follow-up feedback, Iris, one of the participants, shared, “My #1 takeaway is to put more effort into coming up with a family-team environment with more bonding activities and less screen-time for us and them.” Julio said, “My #1 takeaway is intentionality for the Sabbath, with no chores that day.”

> See you this Saturday, Nov. 12th, at 6:30 pm! Bring your entire family to the next Heaven in Your Home Gathering at St. John’s in Leesburg with special guest Deacon Matt Noah from St. Theresa’s, Ashburn. His reflection “Fatherhood: Lessons Learned” is sure to be practical and encouraging to every parent in the room. No RSVP needed. Dinner included. Bring a dessert or drink. Learn more here.

> Date Night! Reserve your seat here and join us and other couples for Date Night at Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, VA, on the evening of Dec. 3rd. We’ll share some brief suggestions for finding heaven in your home. Drinks and refreshments provided.

“The Heaven in Your Home Workshop was very well-structured and seemed practical and achievable for our family, with a toddler and one on the way.”
